That spark of discovery and connection is what first led Lara -–who has over 20 years of experience working with children in special education and autism interventions–into the field of education, where she began her career teaching elementary school in the public system. Over time, her dedication and passion for helping all students succeed earned her the position of Special Education Department Head in the New Caney Independent School District.
Yet, as Lara worked closely with children on the autism spectrum, she realized she could make an even greater impact by specializing in direct interventions. Determined to bridge educational strategies and meaningful therapeutic support, she pursued her Board Certified Behavior Analyst certification—bringing a unique blend of classroom expertise and ABA best practices to each child she serves. Today, we’re overjoyed to share that Lara has joined our team as the new Senior Board Certified Behavior Analyst of Rise With ABA Woodlands, leading our Rise Rocket Program with heart, warmth, and an unwavering commitment to helping children thrive.
A Journey Fueled by Compassion
During her years as a public school teacher and later as Special Education Department Head, Lara witnessed firsthand how early, individualized intervention can transform a child’s ability to communicate, connect, and grow. That realization inspired her to seek specialized training—earning a Master of Education in Special Education (with a focus on Low Incidence Disabilities and Autism) from Sam Houston State University, further solidifying her calling to support children with autism in every way possible.
More than her extensive credentials, though, what truly sets Lara apart is her genuine care for each family she meets. She believes that every child’s journey should be met with empathy, perseverance, and celebrating every milestone—big or small.
